BARISHAL: A three-day long fair has kicked off in Barishal to mark 120th birth anniversary of “Ruposhi Banglar Kobi” Jibanananda Das. 

Barishal Government BM College Principal Prof Md Shafiqur Rahman Shikder inaugurated the fair on the college campus, at 11:30am Saturday (Feb 16). 

As many as 30 stalls were set up in the fair organized by Uttaran Sangskritik Songothon.

The events include rally, poetry recitation and cultural functions. 

The thoughts of Jibanananda Das will be spread throughout the world, surpassing the local sphere, said the organizers and attendees.
