DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has donated Tk 10 lakh to veteran actor ATM Shamsuzzaman for treatment of the ailing actor.

The actor's daughter Koyel received the cheque from Sheikh Hasina's Special Assistant Barrister Biplob Barua at Asgar Ali Hospital in Old Dhaka Monday (May 13) morning.

Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) Burn & Plastic Surgery Unit Coordinator Dr Samanta Lal Sen was present there.

ATM Shamsuzzaman was hospitalized after he had fallen ill on the night of April 26. He was kept on life support as his condition had been deteriorating.

After removing the life support on May 3, the actor was again kept on life support as his condition deteriorated further. 

Afterwards, the life support was removed on May 11.

The veteran underwent a gallbladder surgery on April 27.
