DHAKA: The legend Salman Shah would turn into 48 on Thursday (September 19), if he was alive.

He would regale his audience with his unique style, magical romance, unmatched acting skills and fabulous performance, but his untimely departure left millions of well-wishers in shock. The ill-fated day was on September 6 of 1996.

He was a larger-than-life character both in films and real life which has manifested itself after 23 years of his death. He is still undisputed hero in the hearts of fans, actors.

Shahriar Chowdhury Emon, who is popularly known as Salman Shah, was born in an aristocratic Muslim family in Dariapara of Sylhet city on September 19 of 1971. His father Kamar Uddin Chowdhury was a first-class magistrate while his mother Nila Chowdhury is a politician.

Salman Shah started his career as a child actor in BTV.  He acted in TV drama and advertisement.   Salman quickly became the nation’s heartthrob with his debut in ‘Keyamot Theke Keyamot’ in 1993. 

Keyamat Theke Keyamat, Antorey Antorey, Bikkhov, Denmohor, Bichar Hobe, Ei Ghor Ei Shongshar, Jibon Shongshar, Chawa Theke Pawa and Anondo Osru are of his most successful movies, to name but a few.
