DHAKA: Film actress Sharmin Nahid Nupur alias Shabnur sent a divorce letter to her husband Anik Mahmud Ridoy on January 26.

According to her lawyer Kausar Ahmed, the letter was sent to Anik’s Uttara and Gazipur addresses.

Shabnur stated, in her divorce notice, that her husband Anik is now a drug addict and comes home late at night being drunk. He tortures her in a number of ways. He is not dutiful to his wife and child. She, therefore, sought divorce from him after being dissatisfied with him.

Anik also married a second time a few months ago without Shabnur’s consent, said the concerned sources.   

Shabnur tied the knot with Anik Mahmud seven years ago. The couple has a son, who was born in the next year of their marriage.
