The information ministry on Thursday announced the names of the winners of National Film Award, the highest recognition for contribution to the film industry for the year 2019.

The National Film Award for the year 2019 will be given in 26 categories.

The films 'No Dorai' and 'Fagun Haway' jointly bagged the best film award.

Taneem Rahman Angshu had been awarded the best director award for his film No Dorai.

Another major winner this year was Maya: The Lost Mother, directed by Masud Pothik. 

The Liberation War film won Best Supporting Actress (Nargis Aktar), Best Music Composition (Mostafizur Rahman Chowdhury Emon), Best Singer (Momtaz and Fatema Tuz Zohra Oishee), Best Story, Best Editor (Junaed Ahmad Halim), and Best Makeup (Md Raju). 

Veteran Actor Tarik Anam Khan bagged the best actor in the principal role in the film Abar Basanta and Sunehra Binte Kamal bagged the best actress in the principal role for her acting in No Dorai.

Actor Sohel Rana and Sujata Azim had jointly been awarded the lifetime awards for 2019.
