Dhaka University is celebrating the Pahela Baishakh 1428 with a token Mangal Shobhajatra, on a small scale, due to the current coronavirus situation.

Students of Faculty of Fine Arts displayed masks and artworks at their programme maintaining health guidelines. 

State Minister for Cultural Affairs KM Khalid and DU Vice Chancellor Prof Md Akhtaruzzaman led the token procession.

Organisers paraded the DU premises in the morning to welcome the Bengali New Year 1428.

DU Pro-VC Prof ASM Maksud Kamal, Treasurer Prof Momtaz Uddin Ahmed, Dean of faculty of the Fine Arts Prf Nisar Ahmed, DUTA President Prof M Rahmat Ullah, General Secretary Prof Nizamul Haque Bhuiyan and teachers and students of Fine Arts Faculty joined the procession.
