Legendary actress Sarah Begum Kabari has been put on life support at the Sheikh Russel Gastro Liver Institute and Hospital in Dhaka.

As her condition deteriorated, she was put on life support today afternoon, said Prof Faruk Ahmed, director of the hospital.

She was admitted to Kurmitola Hospital in the capital on the night of April 5.

Later she was shifted to the ICU of Sheikh Russell Gastroliver Hospital at Mohakhali on April 8 as her condition deteriorated. She is now receiving treatment there.

Kabari's son Shaker Chishti on Thursday (April15) said, "My mother's physical condition is very bad. According to doctors, her condition is critical. Please, pray for my mother."
