The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has sought a five-day remand again for actress Pori Moni in a case filed under Narcotics Control Act.

Investigation officer of the case and CID inspector Golam Mostafa on Wednesday filed a petition with the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Debabrata Biswas in this regard.  

Subsequently, the court set August 19 (Thursday) for the hearing.

The Metropolitan Magistrate, however, said though a petition for remand has already been filed, the bail hearing will not be possible today. Then, her lawyer Mujibur Rahman withdrew the bail appeal filed earlier.

The lawyer said he will file the bail appeal for Pori Moni Thursday.

A Dhaka court on August 13 rejected a bail to actress Pori Moni and sent her to jail in the same case.

On August 4, RAB raided the house of Pori Moni at her residence in Banani and seized liquor bottles and other drugs.
