Prominent actor Masum Aziz died at a hospital in the capital on Monday (Oct 17) afternoon.

The Ekushey Padak-winning actor breathed his last at Square Hospital at 3:00 pm while undergoing treatment.

His son Utso Jaman confirmed the news to the media.

Apart from being an actor, Masum Aziz is also known as a screenwriter and dramatist.

While studying at Chittagong University, he made his acting debut in theatre.

In 1985, he debuted in TV drama. He has played more than four hundred dramas. Alongside performing on TV and on stage, he has also acted in films.

The actor has been honoured with the National Film Award for his performance in ‘Ghani’ in 2006. He was awarded the Ekushey Padak this year.
