Dengue: 5 die, 796 hospitalised in last 24 hours

Five dengue patients died and 796 more people were hospitalised with the mosquito-borne disease across the country in the last 24 hours Wednesday (Nov 09).

In the 24 hours, 459 new dengue patients were admitted to different hospitals in Dhaka, said the DGHS release.

However, 337 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital.

According to DGHS, 1,915 patients are undergoing treatment in different hospitals of Dhaka while 1,229 other patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.

Some 45,598 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue till today while 42,267 patients returned home after recovery since January 1.

However, this year a total 187 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today. 

However, 28,429 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue while 28,265 patients recovered last year. A total of 105 died from the mosquito-borne disease during that time.
