The country reported 224 fresh dengue cases in the last 24 hours till Sunday morning (Dec 12), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

In the 24 hours, 119 new dengue patients were admitted to different hospitals in Dhaka, said the DGHS release.

However, 105 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital.

According to DGHS, 523 patients are undergoing treatment in different hospitals in Dhaka while 457 other patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.

Some 60,522 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue till today while 59,276 patients returned home after recovery since January 1.

However, this year a total 266 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today.

However, 28,429 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue while 28,265 patients recovered in last year. A total of 105 died from the mosquito-borne disease during that time.
