Two dengue patients died and 89 more people were hospitalised with the mosquito-borne disease across the country in the last 24 hours Saturday (Dec 24).

In the 24 hours, 59 new dengue patients were admitted to different hospitals in Dhaka, said the DGHS release.

However, 30 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital.

According to DGHS, 297 patients are undergoing treatment in different hospitals of Dhaka while 204 other patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.

Some 61,972 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue till today while 61,165 patients returned home after recovery since January 1.

However, this year a total 276 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today.

However, 28,429 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue while 28,265 patients recovered in last year. A total of 105 died from the mosquito-borne disease during that time.
