Additional Director General (admin) of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Prof Dr Ahmedul Kabir has been made Director General (acting) of the DGHS.

The immediate past DG of the DGHS Prof Dr Abul Bashar Mohammad Khurshid Alam goes on retirement on December 31.

A release was issued by the health directorate on Monday (Jan 9).

According to the release, Kabir, currently the additional director general of DGHS, will also perform the responsibilities of a finance official during his tenure as the acting DG. 

He served as the principal of Mugda Medical College since 2020.
