Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) has planned to launch ‘Bangabandhu Cancer Centre’ to provide better treatment for cancer patients and carry out cancer research.

Prof Dr Sharfuddin Ahmed, Vice Chancellor of the BSMMU now visiting Japan, has asked for mutual cooperation with National Cancer Center in Tokyo.

Sharfuddin Ahmed also presented his plan for setting up the international standard ‘Bangabandhu Cancer Centre’ in an international programme about the treatment of disease and research to prevent cancer in the National Cancer Center of Japan.

He also agreed with the Japanese cancer centre to publish a research article and introduce cancer registry system for research about cancer disease.

The BSMMU VC also discussed joint work with the National Cancer Centre Hospital of Japan about cancer disease treatment and research activities.
