Dengue: 7 more die, 1,921 hospitalised in 24 hours

At least seven more dengue patients died while 1,921 others were hospitalised in 24 hours till 8 am today (November 8), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

In the 24 hours, 359 dengue patients were admitted in Dhaka while 1,553 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital, said the DGHS release.

Besides, this year a total of 1,432 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today.

A total of 2,85,505 were infected by the Dengue virus this year. Of them, 1,02,320 were in Dhaka and 1,83,885 were outside of the capital, according to the DGHS press release.

As many as 2, 77,660 Dengue patients recovered this year. Of them, 99,795 were released from hospitals in Dhaka while 1, 77,865 others left hospitals outside the capital.

According to DGHS, 1,675 patients are now undergoing treatment in different hospitals in Dhaka while 4,738 patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.

Last year, a total of 281 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh. However, 28,429 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue while 28,265 patients recovered last year.
