At least 12 more dengue patients died while 759 others were hospitalised in 24 hours till 8 am today (November 25), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

In the 24 hours, 184 dengue patients were admitted in Dhaka while 575 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital, said the DGHS release.

Besides, this year a total of 1,595 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today.

A total of 3,07,196 were infected by the Dengue virus this year. Of them, 1,06,862 were in Dhaka and 2,00,334 were outside of the capital, according to the DGHS press release.

As many as 3,01,677 Dengue patients recovered this year. Of them, 1,04,891 were released from hospitals in Dhaka while 1,96,786 others left hospitals outside the capital.

According to DGHS, 1,086 patients are now undergoing treatment in different hospitals in Dhaka while 2,878 patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.

Last year, a total of 281 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh. However, 28,429 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue while 28,265 patients recovered last year.
