At least four more dengue patients died while 968 others were hospitalised in 24 hours till 8 am today (November 29), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

In the 24 hours, 193 dengue patients were admitted in Dhaka while 775 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital, said the DGHS release.

Besides, this year a total of 1, 615 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today.

A total of 3,11,014 were infected by the Dengue virus this year. Of them, 1,07, 692 were in Dhaka and 2,03, 322 were outside of the capital, according to the DGHS press release.

As many as 3,05,812 Dengue patients recovered this year. Of them, 1,05, 784 were released from hospitals in Dhaka while 2,00,028 others left hospitals outside the capital.

According to DGHS, 974 patients are now undergoing treatment in different hospitals in Dhaka while 2,613 patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.

Last year, a total of 281 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh. However, 28,429 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue while 28,265 patients recovered last year.
