Three more dengue patient died while 742 others were hospitalised in 24 hours till 8 am today (December 3), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

In the 24 hours, 156 dengue patients were admitted in Dhaka while 586 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital, said the DGHS release.

Besides, this year a total of 1,632 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today.

A total of 3,13,706 were infected by the Dengue virus this year. Of them, 1,08,269 were in Dhaka and 2,05,437 were outside of the capital, according to the DGHS press release.

As many as 3,09,104 Dengue patients recovered this year. Of them, 1,06,470 were released from hospitals in Dhaka while 2,02,634 others left hospitals outside the capital.

According to DGHS, 855 patients are now undergoing treatment in different hospitals in Dhaka while 2,115 patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.

Last year, a total of 281 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh. However, 28,429 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue while 28,265 patients recovered last year.
