Two more dengue patients died while 18 others were hospitalised in 24 hours till 8 am today (January 20), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

In the 24 hours, six dengue patients were admitted in Dhaka while 12 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital, said the DGHS release.

Besides, this year a total of 13 patients died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today.

A total of 821 were infected by the Dengue virus this year. 

Of them, 298 were in Dhaka and 523 were outside the capital, according to the DGHS press release.

As many as 661 Dengue patients recovered this year. Of them, 232 were released from hospitals in Dhaka while 429 others left hospitals outside the capital.

According to DGHS, 59 patients are now undergoing treatment in different hospitals in Dhaka while 88 patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.

Last year, a total of 1,705 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh. However, 3, 21, 179 patients were admitted in hospital.
