FROM JATIYA SANGSAD: Awami League advisory council member Suranjit Sengupta, also minister without portfolio, proposed to hold talks over all-party government with Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair.

The lawmaker came up with the proposal while addressing the parliament in point of order on Monday.

Suranjit told the House: “The parliament will be the centre of all-party dialogue in a bid to ease the ongoing political stalemate over the interim government.”

He also urged opposition party to join the parliamentary session instead of creating anarchy in the name of hartal saying, “Politics will be a brutal practice if it fails to uphold humanity.”
