NOAKHALI: Three suspected robbers were killed in a ‘gunfight’ between police and robbers at Charbata union under Sobornachar upazila of the district on Thursday midnight.

The deceased were identified as Kalu, 45, the ring leader of Kalu Bahini and his second-in-command Ripon, 35 and bodyguard Rubel, 30.

Sources said that acting on tip off police raided the area. Sensing the presence of law enforcers, robbers opened fire aiming them and in retaliation police also fired back, leaving three robbers dead on the spot.
 
Meanwhile, police recovered a Light Gun, two rounds of bullets of light gun and three rounds of rifle bullets.
