DHAKA: An unidentified person gave death threat to vice-chancellor of Jahangirnagar University professor Dr Anwar Hossain and his wife.

The threat was given through Short Message Service (SMS) on his mobile phone using indecent words from number of 01786321251 at around 9:21pm Thursday.

As the VC did not leave the campus still now, the person threatened him and his wife to blow up by bomb attack.

Later, a general diary (GD) was filed with Ashulia police station in this connection.

A section of Jahangirnagar University teachers have been demonstrating for long demanding the resignation of the VC Dr Anwar Hossain.
