CHITTAGONG: A 35-kilometer traffic gridlock on Dhaka-Chittagong highway pushed more than thousands of passengers on Friday.

Passengers and highway police sources said the swelling gridlock initiated from Mirsarai to Feni on Dhaka-Chittagong route in the morning as a truck gone out of the gear near Comilla and a construction work of a bridge in Lalpur area of Feni.

Baro Awlia Thana Highway police Officer–in-Charge told banglanews that a mount rush of vehicles in the highway after 18-party called 60-hour hartal also boosted the gridlock.

He said, “We are trying to ease the gridlock from morning.”
