DHAKA: The High Commission of India is going to organize ‘ITEC day’ on Saturday at the Lakeshore Hotel, Gulshan.
Dr Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury, speaker of the Bangladesh Parliament will present in the programe as chief guest while Pankaj Saran, High Commissioner of India will host the programme.
A large number of persons who have availed of scholarships for training and education in India will attend the meet, says a press release on Friday.
The event is organized every year to foster bonds of friendship among the alumni as well as serve as a networking platform.
The Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) programme is the flagship foreign training programme of the Government of India.
ITEC started in 1964, offers training in several fields to young working professionals in the private and government sectors with the aim of capacity building in developing countries.
The Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) offers more than 200 scholarships every year for graduate, post-graduate and doctoral studies in India.
A large number of scholars from Bangladesh who have availed of these scholarships along with members of the 200 member youth delegations who have visited India over the last two years will participate in the event, the press release added.
