DHAKA: The government is planning to continue ongoing session of Jatiya Sangshad till November 28 as opposition parties of the parliament continue their anti-government movement.
Parliament secretariat sources confirmed the matter to banglanews.
Sources concerned said that speaker of the house Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury is likely to adjourn the current JS session till November 18 as she will leave for New York on November 10 on a seven-day visit.
Sources also said that after returning home from New York, the house speaker will resume the JS session on November 18 and it may continue till November 28. But everything depends on decision of parliament leader and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Jatiya Sangsad Chief Whip vice-principal Abdus Shaheed told banglanews, “As many laws, which were placed before the parliament, are yet to pass so the JS session would continue after November 10.”
Following the matter opposition chief whip Joynal Abedin Faruk told banglanews, “It’s the matter of speaker and government to continue or adjourn the parliament session. They didn’t talk to us on the matter. We will force the government to meet our demand through movement.”
