DHAKA: Awami League has started distribution of nomination papers on Sunday morning for participating in the upcoming 10th parliament elections.
First nomination paper has been collected on behalf of ruling Awami League president, also Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, at 10:30am from party’s central office at capital’s Bangabandhu Avenue.
Sheikh Hasina received the first application as aspirant for Gopalganj-3 (Tungipara-Kotalipara) constituency.
Sources said that she is likely to take nomination papers for Rangpur-6 and Bagerhat-1 constituencies.
Hasina elected from the constituencies in the last 9th parliament elections.
Awami League General Secretary Syed Ashraful Islam, Presidium Member Advocate Sahara Khatun, Joint General Secretary Mahabub-ul-Alam Hanif, Dr Dipu Moni and other top level leaders were present there.
Seven separate booths opened to purchase nomination papers for Awami League nomination aspirants.
Paying Tk 25, 000 which was last year Tk 15, 000 Awami League aspirants can purchase nomination paper from 10:00am to 05:00 pm daily from party’s central office.
