DHAKA: The Cyber Crime Tribunal fixed November 17 for the indictment hearing in a case filed against human rights organization Odhikar’s secretary Adilur Rahman Khan and its director AKM Nasiruddin.
Cyber Crime Tribunal Judge AKM Shamsul Alam fixed the date on Sunday.
Adilur appeared before the tribunal but jail authorities could not manage to produce Elan due to the 18-party hartal.
On November 6, AKM Nasiruddin Elan surrendered to the tribunal.
Odhikar’s secretary Adilur Rahman Khan was arrested on August 10 and got on bail on October 11.
On September 11, the newly-constituted Cyber Crimes Tribunal of Dhaka took the charge into cognizance of publishing ‘fake, distorted and defamatory’ information against Adilur and Odhikar Director AKM Nasiruddin Elan under the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Act.
