SIRAJGANJ: Four people were killed as a truck plunged into a roadside ditch on Hatikumrul-Banpara highway under Salanga upazila of the district on Sunday night.

The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately.

Sources said that a Natore-bound truck fell into a roadside ditch as the driver lost control over the steering after breaking down some parts of front wheel, leaving three dead on the spot and injured one.

On information, highway police rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies and sent the injured to Sirajganj General Hospital.

Later, the injured succumbed to his injuries at around 8:30am.

Hatikumrul Highway police station Police Officer-in-Charge Ali Farid Ahmed confirmed the matter to banglanews.
