BOGRA: Bangladesh Sarak Paribahan Sramik Federation called for an indefinite transport strike in 16 districts of Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions from Thursday.

President of Bogra Motor Sramik Union Abdul Latif Mandal confirmed the matter to banglanews on Monday morning.

Transport leaders warned that the strike would be started if the government does not release the joint secretary of Sarak-Paribahan Sramik Federation Advocate Shimul Biswas, also special assistant to the opposition BNP Chairperson Khalda Zia by Wednesday.

On November 9, Detective Branch (DB) Police arrested BNP Chairperson’s advisor Abdul Awal Mintoo and personal assistant Shimul Biswas from Chairperson’s Gulshan residence.
