JHENIDAH: Three people, including two siblings, died and three others fell sick after drinking rectified spirit in Barbazar area at Kaliganj upazila of the district on Sunday night and Monday.

The deceased were identified as Nazrul Islam, 40, son of Bahar Ali, Mozammel Haque, 32, and Nabai Mondol, 35, residents of Barbazar village.

Three critically injured were rushed to Jessore Medical College Hospital, said a spot account of the incident.

Officer-in-Charge of Kaliganj Thana Munir Uddin told banglanews that they fell sick after taking rectified spirit on Sunday.
