DHAKA: Six passengers sustained burn injuries as hartal supporters torched a bus in Rayer Bagh area under Jatrabari Thana of the city around 1:50pm on the third-day of BNP-led 18-party hartal on Tuesday.

Of the injured, three were rushed to the Burn Unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) and the rest three were admitted to local health centres.

Witnesses and the passengers told banglanews that the hartal supporters got into the bus as passengers from Jatrabari Intersection and set fire to the bus in front of Speed Board Filling Station of Rayer Bagh area in the noon.

Most of the passengers managed to get down from the bus except six who sustained burn injuries.

RAB and police personnel recovered the burnt passengers and sent three of them to DMCH.

None was detained in this connection, so far.
