BGB man killed in Satkhira

SATKHIRA: A Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) member was killed as a vehicle of smugglers rammed him in Alipur Nathpara area of Satkhira-Kaliganj road on Tuesday night.

The deceased was identified as Abdul Jabbar, 35, hailed from Monirampur of Jessore and worked at Bhomora BOP of BGB-38.

BGB sources said smugglers were coming with smuggled goods by a pickup. Acting on tip-off, two BGB members including Abdul Jabbar, obstructed the pickup in the area.

But, the rashly driven pickup van of smugglers knocked them down, leaving Jabbar dead on the spot and injured another.

Satkhira BGB-38 commander lieutenant colonel Imam Ahsan confirmed the matter to banglanews.

The body was sent to Jessore Military Hospital Morgue.
