2 hartal victims succumb at DMCH

DHAKA: A rickshaw puller and an RMG worker, who sustained burn injuries during last spells of hartal, succumbed to their injuries at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital on Thursday morning.

The deceased were identified as Nasima, 30, RMG worker of Mohamamdpur of the capital and Rickshaw puller Abul Kashem, 50, of Feni.

Nasima breathed her last at around 2:00am while Kashem died at 8:30am at the intensive care unit (ICU) of the Burn and Plastic Surgery department of the hospital.

On October 26, Nasima sustained 43 percent burn injuries when hartal supporters hurled petrol bomb at a passenger bus in Mohammadpur area of the city.

On November 12, Kashem sustained 97 percent burn injuries after miscreants threw petrol bomb at him while he was puling his rickshaw in Munshirhat area of Feni district.
