HABIGANJ: Six people were killed in two separate road accidents in Shaistaganj municipality old market area and Rashidpur of Bahubal upazila of the district on Friday morning.

Two of the deceased were identitied as Nurul Haque, 35, son of Abdul Mannan and Bacchu Mia, 32, son of Abdul Malek of Bahubal upazila.

Local sources said that a Sylhet-bound passenger bus rammed an auto-rickshaw when its driver lost control over the steering, leaving four passengers dead on the spot.

In another accident, an oil-laden lorry rammed a CNG-run auto rickshaw on Dhaka-Sylhet highway, leaving Nurul dead on the spot and Bacchu Mia injured.

Bachhu was rushed to Srimangal Upazila Health Complex where he succumbed to his injuries.

District fire service station officer Azizul Haque and Satgaon highway police sub-inspector Shajahan Mia confirmed the matters to banglanews.
