CHANDPUR: A Junior School Certificate (JSC) candidate was killed and four others injured as a passenger bus rammed a CNG-run auto-rickshaw on Chandpur-Comilla highway of Palli Biddut area under Sadar Upazila of the district on Friday noon.

The deceased was identified as Fatema Akhter, 14, daughter of Safikur Rahman, hailed from Borogaon village under Faridganj Upazila of the district.

Witnesses said a Comilla-bound passenger bus rammed a CNG-run auto-rickshaw near Polli Biddut area of the Sadar Upazila as it was trying to overtake another CNG-run auto-rickshaw, leaving Fatema Akhter dead on the spot and four others injured.

Confirming the matter, Officer-in-Charge of Chandpur Sadar Model Thana M Mahabub Morshed told banglanews, “Police sent the body to Chandpur General Hospital for an autopsy.”
