Couple killed in Pabna road crash

PABNA: Two people were killed in a road accident on Pabna-Sujanagar road in Sadullahpur area of Sadar upazila of the district on Friday evening.

The deceased were identified as Abdus Sattar Pramanik, 65 and his wife Sufia Begum, 55, hailed from Koladi village of Sadar Upazila.

Inhabitant of Koladi village Saidul Islam, also school teacher, told banglanews on their way to relative’s house on a CNG-run auto-rickshaw, a sand-laden trolley from the opposite direction rammed their auto-rickshaw.

As a result, the auto-rickshaw plunged into a roadside ditch, leaving both the husband and wife injured critically, he added.

Local people rushed them to Pabna Medical College Hospital where the duty doctor declared them dead.

Officer-in-Charge of Sadar Thana Kazi Haniful Haque told banglanews that no one informed them about the incident.
