BAGERHAT: A patient died while trying to come out of the building in a hurry to escape from the fire that broke out at district sadar hospital early Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Molla Atiar Rahman, 55, of Singair village of sadar upazila.

The incident took place at around 6:30am.

Sadar Hospital Residential Medical Officer Dr Md Moin Uddin told the fire originated at old store room of second floor the hospital building. During the time, a patient died of heart attacks while he along with many others is trying to come out of the building to escape from the fire.

Fire service and Civil Defense Bagerhat station officer Joynal Abedin Titas told banglanews that on information, fire fighter rushed to the spot but the fire has already been doused by relatives of patients and staffs of the hospitals.
