Dhaka: A ruling-party leader of city’s Mohammadpur area has been sued simultaneously by three leaders of its student wing for allegedly giving them death threat for not acting to his behest.
The leaders of Bangladesh Chhatra League filed general diaries with three police stations against Habibur Rahman, general secretary of Awami League Mohammadpur thana unit. All of them made the same allegation of giving them “death threat constantly”.
Arifur Rahman, President of BCL Mohammadpur thana unit, on Tuesday night filed an allegation with Adabor thana, while Mezbauddin, general secretary of the same unit, filed another complaint with Mohammadpur thana and Shahidul Alam, President of BCL unit of Ward 41, filed the rest with Sher-e- Bangla Nagar thana Monday.
Sources said Mezbauddin alleged in his allegation that AL leader Habib and his associates gave him death threat.
Arif alleged Habib created pressure on him over cell phone to negotiate with “listed terrorist Nobi”.
“Nowadays, we have been receiving continuous death threat through phony phone calls,” he said in his complaint.
Shahidul’s allegation was the same against Habibur Rahman.
Denying the entire allegation, Habibur Rahman told banglanews24.com.bd, “They all are like my younger brothers. It is ridiculous to receive such accusation from them.”
The AL leader added: “I’ve no alliance with notorious terror Nobi.”
