DHAKA: Ganojagoron Mancha activists brought out a joyous procession in city’s Shahbagh area on Thursday night just immediately after the execution war crimes convict Quader Mollah.
The spokesperson of Shabagh protesters Imran H Sarker said, “Today the nation has been freed from stigma by executing the war crimes convict Quader Mollah as per the verdict. Besides, martyr families got the justice.”
He also said this win would be completed by the execution of all war criminals.
Earlier Gonojagoron Mancha brought out a joyous procession which started immediately around 12:15am with chanting different slogans.
A huge number of people joined the rally spontaneously showing their ecstasy which started from Shahbagh square and paraded to Bangla Motor area and ended at starting point.
Earlier in the morning, the full bench of the Supreme Court appellate division cleared the way to execute war crimes convict Quader Mollah, rejecting the Jamaat leader`s petition to review the death penalty.
After that Abdul Quader Mollah, was executed at Dhaka Central Jail on Thursday night.
He was the first war crimes convict who had walked to gallows at 10:01pm for committing crimes against humanity during Liberation War in 1971.
