DHAKA: Tight security measures have been taken in Pakistan High commission and its adjacent areas as the resentments erupts in the countrymen following the National Assembly of Pakistan had passed a resolution condemning war criminal Mollah’s execution in Bangladesh.
Diplomatic Security division Sub Inspector (SI) M Abdur Rahman confirmed the matter to banglanews on Wednesday.
He said, “Additional low enforcers were deployed around 7.00am in capital’s diplomatic areas to avert any untoward situation.”
Pakistan High Commission’s general assistant Abdul Majid also confirmed the matter to banglanews.
Earlier, on Tuesday, the government summoned Pakistani High Commissioner to Dhaka after the National Assembly of Pakistan had passed a resolution condemning war criminal Mollah’s execution in Bangladesh.
Pakistan High Commissioner to Dhaka Afrasiab Mehdi Hashmi attended the Ministry of Foreign Affairs after the call.
The government of Bangladesh protested strongly against the resolutions adopted by the Pakistan National Assembly and the Punjab Provincial Assembly and also the remarks made by a senior Cabinet Minister of Pakistan Government on the verdict of the war crimes tribunals in Bangladesh.
