LALMONIRHAT: Law enforcers arrested nine activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and Chhatra Shibir including four women in a drive of joint forces at Patgram upazila in the district on Wednesday morning.

They were detained from Baura, Kafir Bazar, Alauddin Nagar and Kaborstan areas under the upazila.

Lalmonirhat Police Super (SP) Habibur Rahaman told banglanews that the detainees were accused in several cases for their alleged involvement in recent subversive activities.

Besides, the joint force operation was initiated in a bid to arrest the accused for recent violent incidents conducted by Jamaat-Shibir in the district.
