Burnt bus driver dies at DMCH

DHAKA: A bus driver, who received severe burn injuries in blockade violence, succumbed at Dhaka Medical College Hospital on Wednesday morning.

The deceased was identified as Al-Amin, a driver of staff bus of Horizon garment and son of Awal Mollah.

Family sources said that he sustained burn injuries when a gang of miscreants hurled petrol bomb aiming his bus while he was parking the bus in front of Colombia garments on December 3.

Later, he was rushed to a local hospital and then shifted to DMCH for better treatment.

After fighting with death for 15 days, he breathed his last at Burn Unit of the hospital around 11:15am.

Confirming the matter, Burn Unit Residential Surgeon Dr Partha Shankar told banglanews, “25 percent of the victim’s body was burnt.”
