Intelligence team of Dhaka Customs House arrested a person along with gold worth Tk 1.60 crore on Friday (October 13).

Dhaka Customs House Deputy Commissioner Syed Mukaddes Hosen confirmed the matter.

He said suspicious metallic substances were found by the preventive team in an air fryer brought in the luggage of the passenger from Dubai. Later, it was broken and a metal disk-shaped gold nugget was obtained, weighing 1,390 grams.

Besides, one gold bar, 99 grams of gold ornaments was recovered from the arrestee, he said.

The official also said that a case has been filed against the detained passenger at the airport police station.
