Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal today asked field-level officials to maintain impartiality while discharging duty during the upcoming national election. 

He said: "The field-level officials should discharge their duties with impartiality as well as utmost sincerity during the upcoming parliamentary election."

He made the urge while addressing a programme on election management as the chief guest.

The CEC called upon all local officials to act responsibly as they will represent the government in polls.

Noting that organizing election is a challenging task, he advised the officials concerned to be dedicated during the polling time so that the election gains acceptance among the people.

Kazi Habibul Awal said that if franchising the voting rights of the voters is ensured, the polls will be successful.

Regarding the role of law enforcement agencies, the CEC said it is their responsibility to maintain communal harmony before and after polls.
