The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in different operations in the last 24 hours till 6 am Sunday (October 15) arrested 35 persons for their alleged involvement in selling and consuming drugs.

Being informed, the DMP’s police and detective units conducted the anti-drug campaign in the city’s various areas, seizing drugs and arresting drug sellers and abusers, according to a statement issued by DMP today.

They seized 1,742 pieces of Yaba tablets, 48.950kg of hemp, 18 bottles of Phensidyl, 9 bottles of foreign wine, and 54gm of heroin from their possessions, the statement said. 

According to the statement, 24 cases were filed against the detained persons under the Narcotics Control Act.
