Ferry services resume after 9-hr

MUNSHIGANJ: Ferry services on Mawa-Kawrakandi route resumed on Sunday morning after a nine hour halt due to dense fog.

Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) sources said eight vehicle-loaded ferries got stuck in mid of Padma River on Mawa-Kawrakandi route.

BIWTC authority stopped ferry services and other water vessels from plying at around 12:00am due to poor visibility, the source added.

The service resumed at around 9:00am as fog cleared.

BIWTC Mawa office manager Sirajul Haque confirmed the matter to banglanews.
