GAIBANDHA: A minor schoolgirl allegedly committed suicide by hanging at Nuniagari village in Palashbari upazila of the district on Tuesday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Prianka, 12, a student of class-VI at Piari Girls’ High School and daughter of Ram Chandra Saha, resident of the area.

Prianka’s family sources said Prianka committed by hanging herself from the ceiling at her room around 4:00pm. However, the reason behind the suicide could not be known immediately, they added.

Palashbari Thana Officer-in-Charge Nasir Uddin Mandal confirmed the matter to banglanews.
