DHAKA: A truck driver, who sustained burn injuries when blockade supporters hurled petrol bomb at his truck, died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital early Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Nazrul Islam.
Nuruzzaman, helper of the truck, told banglanews that on Friday (December 20) they were going to Chittagong with a rice-laden truck and due to blockade it remained stranded in Tangail for two days.
Later, the truck started for its destination on Wednesday afternoon and when it reached Shafipur in Gazipur, miscreants hurled petrol bombs aiming the vehicle, leaving the driver critically injured.
Later, truck helper rushed the victim to Intensive Care Unit of DMCH where he succumbed to his injuries at around 1:00am Wednesday.
