Minu, Bulbul among 400 sued

RAJSHAHI: Some 400 people including Rajshahi’s top leaders of 18-party alliance were sued for their alleged involvement in killing police constable by hurling cocktails.

The accused are BNP Joint Secretary General Mizanur Rahman Minu, Rajshahi City Corporation Mayor Mosaddek Hossain Bulbul, Central Committee special secretary Advocate Nadim Mostafa, and others top leaders of 18-party alliance.

Sub-Inspector Rafiqul Islam filed the case with Boalia Model Thana on Thursday night against 400 men naming 85 leaders-activists of 18-party alliance.

Boalia Thana Officer-in-Charge Ziaur Rahman Zia confirmed the matter on Friday morning.

Meanwhile, police in several drives held 38 suspects from various spots of the district town.

Earlier on Thursday noon, miscreants’ hurled cocktails in a running police van, leaving nine police men injured.

Later, police man Siddartha died under treatment at Dhaka Combined Military Hospital.
