The government has appointed new deputy commissioner (DC) in Brahmanbaria as per the directive of the Election Commission (EC). 

Appointing deputy director of local government in Kishoreganj Mohammad Habibur Rahman as the new DC of Brahmanbaria, the public administration ministry issued a gazette notification on Monday.    

Meanwhile, Brahmanbaria DC Md Shahgir was posted as deputy secretary of the local government division. 

The EC took the decision to withdraw the DC of Brahmanbaria in order to hold 12th national election peacefully and neutrally.  

Mentionable, the government on 2 December appointed new DCs in Mymensingh and Sunamganj following the EC directive.

Also, the government promoted Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board Chairman Md Selim Uddin and posted him as the secretary to Fisheries and Livestock Ministry.
